Dhammapada Verse 305: Discipline Yourself In Solitude

The Buddha praised solitude numerous times throughout his 45 years of teaching career. Solitude is our greatest treasure and it is here where wisdom can be found through introspection and objective, impartial observation of mental and physical phenomena, in the present moment.
Solitude allows us the uninterrupted time to undertake intense meditation practice, to turn our focus inwards and learn about how reality and our own mind works. Here we will be able to see the habitual-clinging patterns of the mind, how our own reactions and habits cause us suffering and ultimately bind us to Samsara.
